I am pretty sure that I am not the only person who has been looking forward to Thursday night's match-up between the Miami Heat and the Cleveland Cavaliers. This game, of course, is all about Lebron James. Not only will he receive a hell of a lot of boos, but he will take the court wanting to take it to Cleveland.
"It's going to be tough, but I'm there to win a basketball game," James said after the Heat held their practice on Tuesday.
This will be Lebron's first return in months, and the fans are more then excited to boo the shit out of him. As a basketball fan I personally cannot fault the guy for wanting to win a championship.
James and the Heat won't be spending too much time in Cleveland, so therefore Lebron won't have time to visit any of his friends or anything like that. This trip is strictly business. I think this is good for Lebron because he doesn't have to confront anyone in the city or run into any asshole who is trying to kill him. The Heat will go from the plane to their hotel to their bus then to the game. After the game it's back to the hotel then back to Miami.
"I think it's going to be very emotional for myself," James said. "I've got a lot of great memories in that city. So many times, from ups and downs, and a lot of things that I've done in my life, I give a lot of thanks to that city, lot of thanks to those fans for giving me the opportunity to not only showcase my talent but grow from a young boy to a man."
This quote stands out to me specifically because I believe Lebron. He seems to be emotionally trying to connect with his fans again and telling the truth. He's not a monster, he is just an athlete trying to make his living.
