Guard for the Phoenix Suns Steve Nash shot 8 for 8 from the field scoring 20 points with 17 assists to help the Suns beat the Washington Wizards. Nash's perfect game puts him in the same category with only three other players that have achieved this goal. Being on a list with Magic Johnson, John Stockton and Marc Jackson is not something to take lightly. Nash is one of the best guards to ever play the game.
Nash also became the first player in NBA history to record 17 assists twice without missing a single shot. If you remember he also did this in April of 2007 against Memphis. Before the Memphis game, this goal has not been reached since the John Stockton era in 1994.
At 36 years old Steve Nash is still able to hang with the NBA's best players in the league. The guy can still pass the ball better then almost anyone who plays today. Averaging about 10 assists per game it's no wonder why he is a role model type player in the NBA. He also averages about 18 points per game to go along with the 10 assists. After being a top player in the game for over 14 years, Steve Nash has earned his place in the NBA Hall of Fame in many people's eyes. It's easy for one to think that just because he signed a contract extension before this year that he may slack off a bit considering his age, but Nash continues to prove people wrong and it looks like he will for a few more years if he can stay healthy.
It looks like Steve Nash is making his case for another start in the NBA's All-Star Game later in the season. Let's all hope so, because I don't know about everyone else but I love to watch a player who is more into dishing off passes then hogging the ball.
