With a 5-13 record so far this year, the Sixers are pretty close to being the worst team in the league. As a Philadelphia native, this does not sit well with me. Not only is Evan Turner struggling, the rest of the team cannot seem to find the net. They are on a current 2-game win streak and for the Sixers that is a hot streak. Dropping back 9 games in the division already with a .278 winning percentage, I'm not too sure how people can still watch this team. Every year it gets worse and worse. Before the All-Star break the Philly fans are wishing the Sixers lose every game so they will get a good draft pick for the next year. I miss the Iverson era when the playoffs were easy to imagine.
Elton Brand has the highest average of points per game with about 16, which is not saying much. Although it is nice to see Elton not be such a bust of a player, the rest of the team needs to step it up. Andre Iguodala should be leading this team to at least some wins. Averaging only about 14 points per game, its easy to see why the team doesn't score over 100 points a lot. There's nothing else I can say about Evan Turner other then he is a rookie and deserves more time. Yes, I know he is struggling big time and it is upsetting the fans, but it's very early in his career to be panicking.
My favorite player on the Sixers team is Thaddeus Young, and he doesn't play nearly as much as he should. He averages about 24 minutes per game, where he should average at least 10 more every game. Not only because he knows how to play, but the kid is averaging around 12 points per game with only playing half the game. Coach Doug Collins needs to re-evaluate his game plan for the season or else the 76ers are going to be 50 games back by the end of the year.
What I would do to have this guy back in his prime...
